Two arrested in Acadia Parish vehicle burglaries

Two men have been booked in connection with more than a dozen vehicle burglaries that happened in Acadia Parish last week.

Jimmy Lee Matthews, 21, and Marcus Jude Redlich Jr., 19, both of Crowley, were booked with 13 counts of vehicle burlgary and two counts of theft. Additional charges are pending.

Matthews was booked by Vermilion Parish Sheriff's deputies and is being held there on Vermilion Parish charges as well as the Acadia Parish charges. Redlich was arrested by Acadia Parish Sheriff's deputies and was booked into the Acadia Parish jail.

They're accused in connection with a rash of vehicle burglaries that happened January 9 and 10. They happened overnight south of Rayne, south of Crowley and in Ebenezer.

Deputies learned that about 15 vehicles were entered and various items were stolen from each.
