Two Texas men have been arrested in connection with recent utility vehicle thefts from Quality Equipment in Acadia and Lafayette Parish.

Deputies say the original complaint was filed in Acadia Parish over the weekend of November 23 and 24. In that complaint, six John Deere side by side vehicles were stolen.

The thefts were valued at over $100,000.

Following the Acadia Parish theft, deputies said they believed the culprits would try to target the Quality Equipment in Lafayette.

Working together, both agencies were able to catch the two suspects allegedly attempting to steal a side by side from the Lafayette Quality Equipment location on Saturday, December 28.

The suspects were booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center Saturday, December 29. Warrants were issued by the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office for the two suspects in Lafayette Parish custody.

The warrants are for one count of Attempted Theft from the December 28 incident and one count of Felony Theft from the November 23-24 case have been secured. Both suspects are currently being held in Lafayette Parish.

The suspects are identified as:

  • Christopher Lee Garcia, 37 of Channelview, Texas
  • Armando Rosas, 42 of Channelview, Texas
