Teen arrested in Church Point homicide

Investigators with the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office have arrested a second person regarding a November 3 homicide which occurred in Church Point.

A 16 year old juvenile has been arrested for one count of second degree murder, two counts of attempted second degree murder and aggravated criminal damage to property, according to Acadia Parish Sheriff KP Gibson.

Since his arrest, the suspect has been adjudicated via the courts and has been indicted by a Grand Jury on the listed charges. This juvenile will stand trial as an adult, according to the court actions.

Cameron Lorenzo Byers, 16, of Church Point, has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail with bond set at $610,000.
