UPDATE (9:15 p.m.): A spokesperson with the South Rayne Water Corporation says system customers are without water Tuesday night after a transformer blew in the system's plant.
SLEMCO is currently on site working to repair the damage but customers will likely be without water until sometime Wednesday morning, the spokeswoman said.
When water is restored customers will be under a boil advisory.
The South Rayne Water Corporation is asking customers to conserve water.
A spokeswoman says the system is asking residents to refrain from letting their faucets drip, because the system is struggling to keep the pressure up to required levels.
She said if you have a water pipe break, please take care of it as soon as possible, because they system is struggling to keep up.
