South Louisiana Community College will host a graduation ceremony on Friday, January 24 for its first Power Lineman class.

During the ceremony, graduates of the 25-week program will receive a certificate of completion and hear from a CLECO representative on the importance of the Power Lineman course in Acadiana.

Graduating students, their families, SLCC business partners, and faculty and staff will gather for the ceremony from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at SLCC's Acadian Campus in Crolwey.

According to SLCC, the short-term Power Lineman program was created through partnerships with CLECO, SLEMCO, LUS, and Entergy to meet the needs of the community.

Courses are taught in Crowley and are offered through SLCC’s Corporate College division.
