CROWLEY - A former Crowley resident and convicted sex offender was convicted last week of molestation of juvenile.
Lance S. Barton, 60, a five-time convicted sex offender, is facing 25 to 99 years in prison.
The trial began on September 24 and the jury found him guilty two days later. Barton is a five time convicted sex offender. The jury heard from investigating officers, personnel from Hearts of Hope and personnel from the Department of Child and Family Services.
Barton has an extensive history of sex crimes dating back to the 1980s with kidnapping, molestation and sexual battery charges.
Sentencing date October 14.
