UPDATE: Rayne Police say the victim in the shooting on The Boulevard has died.
They are now investigating the case as a homicide. No other details could be released.

Rayne Police are investigating a shooting that left a victim with multiple gunshot wounds.
Police Chief Carroll J. Stelly says that detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred on Monday September 21, 2020, at 12:17 PM on The Boulevard at its intersection of Arceneaux Drive.
Stelly says that officers and Medical personnel responded to the scene and found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported by ambulance to a Lafayette hospital.
An investigation is ongoing but Stelly says an arrest is expected.
