Second Harvest partnered with Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Rayne to hold a food distribution drive on Saturday.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, organizers asked that everyone who attended stay in their vehicle. Food boxes was placed in the trunks of vehicles. Passengers were asked to wear a face mask if the food was being placed in their backseat.

The food distribution took place at 210 Frog Festival Drive (The Pavillion) in Rayne and was open to the entirety of Acadia Parish.

Pastor of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, John Jordan Jr., said the event had a great turnout.

"My wife and I drove up about 10 minutes to 7 [a.m.] and the lines were already formed and long," he explained. "They have been waiting for at least two and a half hours now. That further proves to me that there is a great need for the services that are being provided."
