The Acadia Parish Police Jury is making it easier for residents to retire flags that may be too old to fly.
People in the area can now drop off worn out flags in a new flag disposal box located in the lobby of the administrative office in Crowley.
The box is available on weekdays from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Once the boxes are full, organizations like American Legion, VFWs, and Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts will collect the flags and hold retirement ceremonies.
