A peaceful march was held in Crowley on Saturday.

'One Heart, One Mind, One Crowley Unity Rally' began at 10 a.m. There were two starting points on opposite ends of the town. One group started at St. Theresa's Church and another started at Levy Park.

Both groups walked from their starting points and meet at Parkerson Avenue, where they merged as one. They then finished the march at the Acadia Parish Courthouse.

Once there, organizers continued the conversation between white, black, young, old, police, and civilians.

Bishop James Proctor gave a keynote address. Pastor Dale Morgan also spoke, along with Mayor Tim Monceaux and other city officials.

Participants stood in silence for 8 minutes and 46 seconds in remembrance of George Floyd.
