State Police say they are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Iota that left one man dead.
Troopers began investigating the incident around 10:30 pm on Wednesday, March 18 at the request of the Iota Police Department.
According to State Police, a preliminary investigation revealed that Iota officers were dispatched to a home on 4th Street in the city at around 10:00 pm
There, troopers say the officers encountered a man seated in a vehicle armed with a firearm. During the encounter, state police say the man was shot by at least one officer.
The man was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
No officers were injured during the incident.
State Police say an investigation is ongoing.
