A 26-year-old Opelousas man has been arrested after police say he allegedly provided marijuana to a 4-year-old and then physically abused the child.
The Rayne Police Department says they arrested 26-year-old Dexter Keith Broussard, Jr. on Wednesday, February 19.
Chief Carroll Stelly says the abuse resulted in injuries that required the child to be hospitalized.
Broussard was booked on a charge of cruelty to a juvenile.
The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office assisted in the making the arrest.
