The Love of Christ Church in Crowley gave back to the community with a food box distribution.
The Church, located on W Hutchinson Avenue, began the drive thru service at 12 pm on Tuesday February 2, 2021. The community was welcomed to drop by and grab one of the many food boxes they had on hand.
Cars lined up outside the church as volunteers bundled up to hand out supplies.
Organizers say that food boxes will be passed out until they run out.
Volunteers placed items inside of vehicles. Drivers and passengers were asked to stay inside to keep with distancing guidelines.
Officials with the church say they are planning more of these events in the future.
"This is one of our first free feedings but we are now officially a SNAP area where you can come in and fill out the SNAP and we will be an open pantry. So today was just trying to introduce the public because we know there is a need in feeding," explained Corwin Morgan, Pastor at Love of Christ.
Details on those future events will come at a later date.
