Juvenile shot and killed in Crowley's first homicide of 2020

CROWLEY, La. - A juvenile boy was shot and killed in Crowley's first homicide of the year and police are asking for help with information.

In the early morning hours of May 15, 2020, officers of the Crowley Police Department were dispatched to the area of West 10th Street in reference to shots being fired.

Upon their arrival, officers observed a juvenile male victim laying on the ground with multiple gun shot wounds, according to Chief of Police Jimmy Broussard. Medical personnel was contacted, but the victim died from his injuries on scene.

Investigators processed the scene and collected pertinent evidence, Broussard stated.

The victim was sent to Calcasieu Forensics Laboratory for an autopsy.

Details are still sketchy, but Crowley Police are still investigating and attempting to determine a motive, Chief Broussard added.

The name of the victim is being withheld until proper notification of family.
