In Iota, due to a major water leak the entire town’s water system was shut down.
Firefighters were on scene on South 2nd street for a water main rupture on Monday evening. The main water line has been temporarily fixed, the fire department says.
Residents are asked to conserve water throughout the night. The towns water system will be shut off again tomorrow morning at 8:00 am. According to the Iota Fire Department, it will take 4 hours to replace the broken water line.
The town will be under a boil advisory until further notice.
"Please note that the town public works employees and the mayor are tending to this problem as quickly and efficiently as possible!" they say in a Facebook post.
"We apologize for any inconveniences but we have no choice to do this," officials say.
