An investigation is underway into a fire at Church Point business owned by the mayor.
The State Fire Marshal's office was called in to investigate the fire at Spanky's Small Engine Repair and Mower Sales just before 5;00 this morning.
The mayor, Ryan "Spanky" Meche, owns that business and says the fire was started in a trash can in front of the buisness. Few details are being released at this time.
Other trash fires were also started in front of several other businesses in town.
A spokesperson with the marshal's office says there are suspicious circumstances surrounding those fires.
