CROWLEY, La. — The Mull Building in Downtown Crowley, which used to be the old Bruce Theatre, is under going renovations to restore some of its old features and prepare it for residential and business use.

According to Jill Habetz with Crowley Main Street, the 120-year-old historical building has been vacant for many years, but will soon have a face lift thanks to a $10,000 matching grant from the Louisiana Main Street.

Habetz says that her family's construction company, E. L. Habetz Builders, will restore some of the building's original features and its entire facade with plans to add two apartments on the building's second floor and retail or office space to suit for the first floor.

Habetz adds that the facade work has already begun along with some of the interior restorations.

The building also has to be brought up to code with electrical and plumbing work.

Habetz says the facade work is expected to finished within two months, with the entire construction expected to be completed within six to eight months.
