ACADIA PARISH, La. - The ASSIST Agency has received a grant to help low-income Acadia Parish residents who are struggling financially and need help with their rent, mortgage and/or utilities.

The FEMA Emergency Food and Shelter Program in conjunction with the United Way can assist if you have experienced a recent emergency situation and meet eligibility requirements. Many situations can qualify as an emergency, such as temporary reduction of income, unexpectedly high utility bill, in the Medicare "donut hole," and more.

To qualify, applicants must live in Acadia Parish and meet all eligibility requirements. If you believe you may qualify, please call the ASSIST Agency at (337) 788-7550 ext. 138 for an appointment.
