Dwayne's Dream Team hosted its annual burger sale and toy drive today at the Church Point Depot.
The non-profit organization raises money every year to help families who are facing hard times around the holidays.
"I tell you what, just to see the smile on the kids faces, you know, some of them that may not be getting anything for Christmas and you show up, the little elf gets there with gifts and some of the kids it just, it really warms your heart," said Dwayne Richard.
Last year's event raised enough money to supply seven families with gifts, provide one family with food and a gift delivery on Christmas day, pay a single mother's electric bill so her power could be restored, deliver gifts to local hospitals for children and provide gifts to a local shelter.
The group's moto is "Tough times don't last, tough people do."
