RAYNE, La. — Winds at the Rayne Fire Department have caused some roof damage to a building nearby.
KATC's Jordan Lippincott was live when strong gusts pushed through. The Mayor of Rayne says that trees have been downed including a water oak tree which has fallen onto a home.
At the volunteer fire department, crews were working to get debris away from vehicles as powerful gusts rattled the building. During another short video the roof of the building next door to the Fire Department was ripped off and struck a power pole.
Jordan reports that electricity went out earlier in the evening. It is unclear when that power will be restored.
