The City of Crowley will begin nightly spraying of mosquitoes following a noticeable increase due to Hurricane Laura.

Mayor Tim Monceaux says that the Public Works Department will spray the entire city every night between the hours of 7:30 pm and 3:00 am.

Monceaux says that spraying takes about 7 and a half hours.

The City of Crowley will be working with Acadia Parish to perform an aerial spraying for mosquitoes later this week.

The mayor says that specifics are not known at this time. Residents are reminded to wear long sleeves, long pants and use a mosquito repellent while outside.
