On Monday night, a group of Crowley residents gathered for a peaceful rally.

The group which was comprised of residents, law enforcement, and local leaders discussed the protests and demonstrations happening across the country.

They spoke about helping to make a difference in their community and the relations they can build with law enforcement and ways to work for change.

Law enforcement, local leaders and residents were there to learn from each other and provide insight into how this now national movement against racial injustice is affecting them.

"The beautiful part of us coming together is to say we are united. Whether it's in our pain, in our hurt, or our anger, or our disappointment, or our disdain, we're together. We're expressing that together," Crowley Police Chief Jimmy Broussard said.

Plans are being made to do more of these peaceful rallies in different locations in the city.
