A Crowley man was arrested Tuesday by the State Fire Marshal's Office for allegedly setting fire to a home following an argument in May.

Deputies say 22-year-old Peter Onezine Jr. was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail Tuesday, July 30 on one count of Simple Arson.

The Fire Marshal's Office says that the Crowley Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 600 block of W. 4th street on the morning of May 5. Investigators say the home and a vacant house next door received fire damage.

After assessing the scene, investigators say they determined the fire was incendiary.

Deputies say they learned that the home's occupant had gotten into an altercation with Onezine who was living at a home down the street at the time of the fire. During the investigation, Onezine was confirmed as a suspect in the case and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
