The City of Crowley is looking to raise sewer user fees for the first time in over a decade.

Mayor Tim Monceaux says the increase he is proposing would be based on consumption. A flat rate will be assessed for the first 2,000 gallons used with an additional fee per thousand gallons used.

The mayor says that it is time to raise rates because they are still implementing rates from 12 years ago. The mayor says he is open to hear other plans and suggestions.

A committee will meet on the proposed rate increase on March 4th.
