About 16 fire crews were out in Crowley on Thursday cleaning up large trees in the area.

The groups are traveling throughout the neighborhoods in Crowley finding large trees and branches that need to be cut and removed.

Work started on the west side of the city and will move through the neighborhoods from there.

KATC's Briana Aldrige says that there is a lot of work to do to pick up all the debris created by Hurricane Laura.

Fire crews started working to remove debris on Wednesday night while Laura was making landfall and started again at 5:00 am on Friday morning.

Both the west side and the south side of town have reportedly seen damage from the storm.

Fire chief Terry Romero says that all of Thursday's work will help to get the power crews into the neighborhoods and quickly bring residents back on line.
