The City of Rayne has announced a schedule for hurricane debris pickup.

On Friday, September 4, four Acadia Parish bulk waste trucks will pick up storm debris only in the city. Bags of leaves and all other debris must be separated from tree branches. The trucks are unable to pick up items that are generally left at the roadside, such as non-working appliances, construction debris, or similar items. All five trucks will be working in one section of town at a time.

The normal bulk waste pickup schedule will resume next Monday, September 7.

The city is awaiting a decision from the Acadia Parish Police Jury for the normal trash pickup schedule, due to the Labor Day holiday.

If the parish decides to take Labor Day off, the current plan is to be in Rayne on Tuesday afternoon following Church Point's regularly scheduled day. Updated information will be posted as soon as possible.

Additional information regarding debris after a natural disaster can be found on the APPJ's Facebook page or by calling the Acadia Parish Recycling Center at 337-783-9380.

Summary:
Friday September 4th - Rayne - ONLY storm tree debris pick up.
Monday September 7th (Labor Day) - Either the normal schedule of bulk waster pick-up will resume OR they will be in Rayne Tuesday following Church Point's regularly scheduled day. Awaiting decision from APPJ.
Tuesday September 8th - If no pick-up on Monday, then they will be in Rayne Tuesday following Church Point's regularly scheduled day. Awaiting decision from APPJ.
Reminder: Per the federal Environmental Protection Agency, bags of leaves and all other debris MUST be separated from tree branches.
