Several people who attended a recent church-related meeting in Shreveport have tested positive for COVID-19, the church has announced.

The Historic Louisiana First Jurisdiction of Church of God in Christ posted a letter on its Facebook page from Bishop James W. Proctor of Crowley.

"The purpose of this message is to inform you that the Bishop's Office has been notified that several individuals who attended the recent Worker's Meeting on March 12-14 in Shreveport, LA, have tested positive for the COVID-19 (coronavirus)," the letter states. "Due to privacy laws, we cannot disclose the identity of these persons. However, we can relay that the individuals who tested positive were present on the platform/stage, the choir, and the audience."

The church is urging anyone who attended the meeting contact their healthcare provider.
