A Branch man has been arrested in connection with a Saturday night shooting.
James Matte, 55, is accused of two counts attempted second-degree murder in connection with the incident, deputies say.
They were called to the 8100 block of White Oak Highway late Saturday, and found that a fight among family members had happened. During the disturbance, gunfire was exchanged between two family members; one appears to have been in self-defense. Two people were hit in the leg and treated at local hospitals for their injuries, deputies say.
The investigation is continuing, and additional charges are possible, deputies say.
