Acadia Sheriff: One injured in shooting Thursday on I-10

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office says they are investigating a shooting that happened Thursday on I-10.

Sheriff K. P. Gibson says the incident happened at 5:55 pm on I-10 near mile marker 72.

Gibson says a vehicle with four occupants, including two children, was traveling eastbound on I-10 when another vehicle pulled on side of them and fired several shots into the vehicle.

One person, an adult, was struck and is in stable condition.

A motive, Gibson says, has not been determined.

The suspect vehicle is described as an older model mid-sized vehicle, dark in color. There was no description of the suspect.

An investigation is ongoing.
