The Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office announced that a parish-wide curfew will go into effect Thursday, April 2 from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am.

According to the sheriff's office, those traveling to and from work are asked to have identification and a letter from employers with them during curfew hours.

Those letters will need to indicate the person's name and that they are employed with the business and have work hours between the curfew times.

Due to the curfew, Crowley Police Officers will be riding around the city with an audible alarm at 9 p.m. The alarm is different from the department's regular siren. The department says it is a reminder for citizens to be notified that they are not allowed to leave their homes until 6 a.m. the following morning (exceptions listed above). They ask that residents follow all precautions set in place.

On Wednesday, April 1, St. Martin and Iberia parishes also announced parish-wide curfews.
