15-year-old dies from injuries sustained in early morning shooting in Crowley

A Crowley teenager has died from injuries sustained during an early morning shooting on Tuesday.

According to police chief Jimmy Broussard, officers responded shortly before 7 a.m. to a call of shots fired in the 1800 block of Harry Fuselier St. Police discovered a 15-year-old male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. Acadian Ambulance was contacted, but due to the severity of his injuries, the victim was transported by officers to a local hospital.

The victim later succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital, Broussard said.

The Acadia Parish Coroner's Office was contacted and the victim's body was transported to the Calcasieu Forensics Laboratory for a forensics autopsy.

Detectives are following all leads at present time and a canvas of the neighborhood was conducted by officers. Anyone with information on the homicide is asked to call the Crowley Police Department at 337-783-1234 or Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish at 337-789-TIPS.
