CROWLEY, La. - UPDATE: The 14-year-old shot Friday morning in Crowley is now in stable condition.
ORIGINAL STORY: A 14-year old boy is recovering after he was shot in Crowley early Friday morning.
According to Chief of Police Jimmy Broussard, the boy was walking from a convenience store in the 1600 block of N. Avenue I when he was approached by two suspects who attempted to rob him. A struggle pursued and the victim who had hot coffee in his hand threw it on the suspects and ran away. He was shot in the back by one of the suspects, Broussard said.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery and is expected to make a full recovery.
Police are still searching for the two suspects.
