Opelousas Police responded to an accidental shooting in the early morning of Saturday, June 29 in the 1400 block of W. Grolee ST.
The initial call was for a medical emergency, but after investigating, officers learned that an adult male had accidentally shot himself while sitting in his vehicle.
The male suffered from a serious gunshot wound and was listed as stable, but his condition was still critical. There was no evidence of foul play reported.
