Youngsville’s ‘Flag Man’ raises American flag on Flag Day

Friday morning, the Youngsville man known around town as “Flag Man” had the honor of raising the flag at Laborde Earles Law Firm.

Bill Miller, as KATC previously reported, helped install over 250 American Flags in the Sugar Mill Pond neighborhood of Youngsville. He is expected to help install many more flags for those in the community who would like his help.

Miller raised the flag at Laborde Earles newest law firm location on Kaliste Saloom Road.

The honor was a part of Flag Day which commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States in 1777 by the Continental Congress.

President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed June 14th as Flag Day and that day of observance was passed in 1949.
