Another Hot One-PM Storms This Weekend

Posted

Hotter temperatures are in store for Acadiana today after a pleasant day Thursday with highs only in the 80s. Friday should bring more June type weather with highs approaching 90 degrees. We’ll start the day sunny with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s, which is pleasant for this time of year. Gradually we’ll see a few more clouds developing, and humidity levels will increase this afternoon as winds shift from the south. The higher dew points will hold our temperatures in the lower 70s overnight and it will be much more muggy.

Saturday, expect a mix of sun and clouds. It will definitely feel more like June with highs reaching the lower 90s. With dew points back in the 70s, the heat index values will be near 100. As the onshore flow will be back in place, expect a few scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon as the sea breeze make better headway inland.

More of the same is expected Sunday. Hot, humid, a few afternoon storms with highs in the 90s. This pattern should hold into early next week. No issues over the tropical areas, and no activity is expected over the weekend.
