One Louisiana organization wants to remind people that the plan doesn’t just end with the home.

As the tropical season heats up, and plans are being made to protect your home, for business owners that plan needs to go a little further

“Just prepare, have a business continuity plan so that you know what you need to do to operate from an alternate location for an extended period of time depending on the disaster,”  Chris Deguelle with LBEOC.

For business owners, the Louisiana Business Operations Center is there to help offer relief.

“Making sure that businesses and individuals get back to work as quickly as possible, and we serve as that gateway to make sure business get back to work as quickly as possible,” Deguelle said.

While they say preparation should be made ahead of time, LBEOC says they’ll be with you during, and after the storm as well.

The first thing as a business owner is to go to lbeoc.org and register your business that will ensure you’re getting up to the date information,” Dequelle explained. “After the storm, we shift our focus to economic recovery how quickly can we get businesses, communities, and the entire state back up and running.”

They hope to offer all the support they can to help out business owners get back to work.
