The heat is going to hang on for one more day to start the work week with highs Monday afternoon topping out in the low to mid 90s.
But during the afternoon a cool front will be working through Acadiana which could spark off a couple isolated showers but rain chances only look to be about 20% or less.
This front will then pushing south out into the Gulf Monday night into Tuesday allowing slightly cooler and much drier air to slide over the region as highs will be below average in the low to mid 80s Tuesday afternoon.
The best news is the comfortable temperatures and low humidity will last a couple days with highs on Wednesday also only topping out in the mid 80s as the northerly flow keeps the dry air mass in place.
Thursday temperatures creep back to near 90 as surface winds turn more easterly but humidity levels will still be quite pleasant.
And with the dry air in place overnight lows will drop down into the low to mid 60s a couple nights this week giving you the chance to maybe turn the AC off and open the windows.
By Friday Summer starts to return to Acadiana with highs back in the low 90s along with the humidity climbing back to uncomfortable levels.
For Father’s Day weekend Saturday looks to be the pick day if you want to take Dad golfing or fishing as we will have partly sunny skies with just a stray afternoon shower possible.
Rain chances go up to about 30-40% on Sunday as our next front tries to work into Louisiana.
Unfortunately, this front will be a more typical summer cool front and stall out near Alexandria and linger over the region into the first half of the following week producing scattered showers and storms Monday and Tuesday afternoon.
