It was Disney night on the Idol stage and the singers performed songs from classic Disney movies. Laine, who is competing for the second time, sang “Oo-De-Lally” from Robin Hood.

Hardy first competed on American Idol in 2018, making it all the way to Hollywood before being eliminated. This year, Laine made it to the show unexpectedly after showing up to auditions to support a friend.

The judges convinced Hardy to audition and he received a ticket

Now in the Top 8, Hardy has only a few more weeks of competition to capture the Idol crown.

On Monday, April 22, ABC will air a two-hour special called American Idol: Meet Your Finalists. The special will take a closer look at each finalist, their stories, and include new, never-before-seen songs, performances and footage from the show.

Live performances and voting will resume Sunday, April 28.

American Idol Airs on Sundays and Mondays on ABC (KATC) at 7:00 p.m.
