A crosswalk in one Florida town got a lot of attention this week due to a simple spelling mistake.
What should have read “SCHOOL” instead read “SCOHOL.”
WPLG says that the crosswalk is steps away from a brand new school that is currently wrapping up construction in the city of Doral, Florida.
How long the mistake managed to stay on the roadway before being noticed is not known.
The error made its rounds on social media before being acknowledged by the city.
Officials posted to their Twitter page on Thursday that the mistake was being “expeditiously” corrected by contractors.
#UPDATE– This SCHOOL zone striping was handled by the developer’s contractor. They have been notified and are working expeditiously to correct. Thank you to all who brought this very important matter to our attention. https://t.co/4YVR82gsrB
