Former Lafayette City Marshal, Nickey Picard and his wife, Jeanette, celebrated their 70th anniversary on Wednesday at Saint Genevieve church.
The couple attended mass and then renewed their vows.
“We were married in this same church 70 years ago,” said Nickey Picard. “We were both baptized in this church. In fact, the church was opened in 1929. I was baptized in this church in 1931.”
