Today’s Cool School is Northside High School!
This is the first year Northside High School has offered Emergency Medical Responder as an elective and credential course.
Within this class, students learn how to care for a Medical and Trauma Patients in an Emergency setting. Skills include manual blood pressure readings and demonstration, application of a Cervical Spine Immobilization collar, administration of Supplemental Oxygen with oxygen devices, CPR and so much more.
The students really enjoy learning and are intrigued with emergency care and careers in the medical field. The recently took a field trip to Acadian Ambulance and got a first hand look into the lives of First Responders and their careers in Health Care.
