Acadiana Women, a civic group, hosted their Ya Ya Hat competition today.
The group has been meeting together since 1999 to raise money for different causes and complete projects that help Acadiana people. They’ve put together Easter baskets for the Extra Mile, worked with Affiliated Blind and made grief dolls for kids at the Faith House, among other projects.
Today, for their monthly luncheon, the ladies made hats for a Ya Ya Hat Competition; it was a fun way to welcome spring, said organizer Kat Broussard.
“We had a little contest,” she said. “We had most original, prettiest, most unusual. The most unusual winner was a lady who made a hat out of pictures of the different events we have had.”
