UPDATE: UL Police find suspect; warn him off UL property

UPDATE: UL Police have located and questioned a man who several women say was following them around the UL campus.

Based on a tip, ULPD located and questioned a man they identified as the person who was reported following women on St. Mary Boulevard, a spokesman said.

Interim ULPD Chief Tim Hanks said, “No crime was committed, and the man was not arrested. He was warned not to enter University Property.”

The man is not a student at UL Lafayette.

ORIGINAL STORY:

UL Police are working with local law enforcement to help identify and locate a man who was reported following women at about 2 p.m. on Feb. 8 near the UL Lafayette campus on St. Mary Boulevard.

He is described as a white male with a crew cut who is about 6 feet tall and between 25 and 35 years old. He was wearing a dark long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and carrying a black backpack containing a baseball bat.
