SLCC is helping high school students prepare for higher education.

Representatives from the college visited Northside High School to advise them on financial aid, scholarships and courses the school offers.

Students also received guidance on how to apply for college.

“What we did is we brought all of our departments from admissions to financial aid to advising,” said Langston Faulk, Academic Success Coordinator, Center for Minority Excellence.  “And what we’re doing is we’re bringing SLCC to the students. Sometimes you have to meet the students where they are and that’s what we’re doing today.”
