It was an amazing holiday season for the Salvation Army in Lafayette.
This year, they raised $209,000 in donations during their annual Red Kettle Campaign.
Donations were up 21 percent compared to last year.
According to Corps Officer John McGee, thanks to the generous support of Acadiana, the Salvation Army was able to raise enough money to cover their entire budget for 2019.
These donations will allow them to continue to provide meals to 75-100 people every evening, shelter for 20-40 men each night and disaster services for those affected by storms, floods or fires.
