Funeral arrangements have been set for New Iberia City Marshal Victor “Vic” Delcambre who died Thursday morning. He was 84.
Delcambre had served as City Marshal for 40 years.
Delcambre died shortly after midnight on Thursday morning of multiple organ failure.
Services for Delcambre will begin on Sunday at 2:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will follow at 6:30 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday at the funeral home from 8:00 am until 10:30 am.
Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in New Iberia. Delcambre will be laid to rest in the Holy Family Cemetery.
Co-workers say he worked right up until his death. They tell us he was always the first one in the office, and his biggest concern up until his death was that his men were taken care of.
