A Catahoula Parish man has been arrested and is now in jail in St. Landry Parish, accused of two counts of livestock theft.
The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF) Brand Commission says that Terry Welch of Harrisonburg was arrested on December 11, 2018, after complaints that he failed to make payments for livestock he purchased at a market in St. Landry Parish.
The investigation revealed that Welsh allegedly failed to pay for two horses purchased at the market in the amount of $1,125 on October 31, 2018. Welch was arrested by Brand Inspectors with the assistance of the Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s Department without incident.
He was transferred to the St. Landry Parish jail.
