A Lafayette Parish grand jury has indicted Brent Johnson in connection with the September slaying of Jason Carbins.
Carbins was shot in September on Lafayette street, just yards away from the Wiltz slaying that happened the week before.
Brent Johnson, 26, was found later that month, in the state of Washington.
He faces a charge of second-degree murder, which carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison without possibility of parole, probation or suspension of sentence.
