Mamou High School basketball players will be starting the season with new floors.
The school unveiled the new gym floor with a rubber surface.
“Today we are unveiling our new gym floor that we’ve waited for many many years to receive and we have lots of alumni, the student body, community, staff members, and of course Coach Jack who’s taught here for 30 years and coached on that old floor for 30 years,” said Principal Liz Chatelain.
The building had to be remodeled after getting flood damage over the past two years.
The court was also raised six-inches to prevent future flood damage.
