Avoyelles Parish – Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations/Alexandria Field Office (LSP AFO) have arrested the former Chief and a former dispatcher of the Bunkie Police Department.

In July 2018, LSP AFO received a criminal complaint regarding alleged misconduct in office by former Chief Bobby Corner, 48,  and former dispatcher Nicholas Desselle, 26. The investigation revealed that Corner allowed multiple pieces of evidence to be unsecured, misplaced, and lost in the Bunkie Police Department’s building. He also failed to introduce certain items into the evidence room, mishandled a felony case file, failed to process traffic citations, tampered with the Bunkie Police Department’s surveillance system, and shredded official department files, according to investigators. The investigation also revealed that Desselle disabled the surveillance camera in the Bunkie Police Department’s maintenance building on multiple occasions.

Based on information obtained from the investigation, investigators were able to secure an arrest warrant for Corner and Desselle. Yesterday, Desselle was arrested and booked into the Avoyelles Parish Detention Center. He was charged with tampering with surveillance systems. Earlier today, Corner was arrested and booked into the Avoyelles Parish Detention Center. He was charged with tampering with surveillance systems, injuring public records, malfeasance in office, and malfeasance in office (tampering with evidence). The investigation remains active and ongoing.
